Salt glaze Stoneware jug, ca. late 1880s early 1900s. Signed, impressed  W. H. Crisco on the shoulder. It is an excellent piece, with a smooth brown orange peel coloring. William Henry Crisco, 1857-1944 apprenticed with JD Craven at age thirteen.  Mr. Crisco was a North Carolina potter and worked in Moore and Randolph Counties.  He also worked for the Busbees at Jugtown Pottery in the early 1920s. Jug is 10-1/2” tall. Condition is excellent.
