This is a very nice and early Handel Rose overlay lamp. The Handel Lamps Book by highly respected Handel experts, Carole & John Hibel and John Fontaine, indicate that this lamp produced by Handel in 1906, which they named “Teroca” and introduced this new line of painted overlay lamps. The book on page 40 shows this same shade and base combination. The lamp measures 21” high with each side of the shade measuring 12” and 16” from opposing corners across the center. The shade is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, missing filigree, lost paint or repairs. The base and shade is solid bronze and maintain their original dark patina. The base has been rewired with period cloth cord.
